Showtime, Celtic

As Neil Lennon takes his leave of Celtic Park in the likely absence of the new-hiped Gordon Strachan the time is ripe for an improvement on the field of play. Aberdeen may have more to play for but Celtic must seek out victory and a winning mentality. It is crucial that confidence is restored ahead of the Scottish Cup Final and that we start finding the net. Dunfermline are the form team in the SPL at present, they fear no-one and are playing high-tempo football. We have lost our last two matches, conceded five goals and appear to have the buckets and spades out. We simply cannot go into the Final on the back of a run of defeats. If success breeds success then failure breeds..........well you can guess the rest. The sequence-watchers will be taking note.

The final game at Celtic Park of any season is always bitter-sweet. We love the place. For most of us the stadium represents the focal point of a love we've cherished since childhood. In my case, outwith my various residences, it's probably the place I've visited most apart from St Ignatius' Church in Wishaw. It has a beauty all of its own. Fans throughout the world have heartstrings that reach all the way back to G40. Here's hoping that tomorrow it will be the venue for a truly champion performance.

Enjoy the match.

Mornin'WishaeGooner.
Got my CF ticket yesterday, courtesy of the Bhoy, which is the kind of habit I'd like to encourage for the future.

Given that SuperHiggo is putting his success down to swearing off the C2H5OH will there be mass redundancies in the bars of ML2?

Like to say nice wee blog and easy to read WG, what took you so long?

Great pic of yer man Arthur too. Peace Maaan:)

Yeah I'm really hoping for a great send-off performance tomorrow for NL and please oh please a penalty for our legendary Captain. I know of a couple of lhads heading over from here in Holland just to show their respects at the end of a great Celtic career; only when he is gone we will realise what we are missing.

Hail Hail

There's only one Neil Lennon.

heard nothing re CF ticket so far which is a bit of a concern. No update on the official site as of this morn.

There will always be a high alcohol uptake in ML2, it's a generic thing. I was surprised JH made the front page of the Wishaw Press under the headline VICTORIOUS.

sdstim -

Thanks, no big plans for this.

I love Lenny and all he has contributed to the cause. A Celtic Great and no mistake.

From all the bullshit surrounding him and Paul Lambert being able to play in the same team right up 'til now - he has defined Celtic for me. Repeat the mantra - One of us - and a fantastic player to boot.

Have met him a couple of times - initial moments see a man on guard and reading into every comment trying to decipher for any intent - when relaxed a funny, witty gentleman - sworn under secrecy not to tell what he wrote on an autograph for my then pregnant wife.

Hoping for a win - not taking it for granted though.

Ulysses - we are in total accord.

Where you on the jungle juice last night per chance ?

Ulysses McGhee said...

Yes, and I thought myself so witty in my guise as 'addled pensioner'. Apologies to all concerned. Allow me to buy you some of said juice tonight as recompense. 'Here's the nun wae ma pills' is something of a family quote. A great Aunt who mistook the nurses' uniform for something a lot more spiritual. Although thinking on it now there's a good chance she was 10% right when referring to someone as 'sister'.

Bit more of an old romantic and optimist than myself at the moment. But the season has wore me doon.

Ma farewell to Lenny will be hopefully when he parades the SC round Hampden in a saint martin of o’neill style.

Will come again
