Robyn Hitchcock Gig Reviews

Following the great man's appearance on Friday's Jools Holland show (which I have yet to see) when Robyn was accompanied by current collaborator, Terry Edwards, I've linked a couple of reviews (see Music Latest) from two of the I Often Dream Of Trains Etc gigs which have been taking place down south. No word of a Scottish date yet but Robyn has added another - Birmingham's Glee Club on Friday, 15th February.

Gigsters were spoiled for choice yesterday with Morrissey in Edinburgh and The Pale Fountains in Liverpool. I settled for Celtic's fine win at Kilmarnock and an early night.

Hit!!

Better now?

Morning WG, how are you today?

I have been sitting in over the weekend feeling sorry for myself due to having a wee cold (aka Man Flu). I then log onto CQN to read the dreadful news about Dick Byrne's laddie. I have just given me a good slap and no longer feel sorry for myself.

I also realised that I haven't spoken to my oldest boy (young man in fact) for over a week - he is in Dundee at Abertay Uni. I shall give him a call this afternoon to see how he is and to tell him what he means to me.

As some of the guys have said on CQN, football really doesn't matter a jot at a time like this.

Thanks Ulryc -

aye, sad times all round it seems mate.

was at the game yesterday and the Feel Good Factor was back although it's hard to say if we were good or they were rank or both.

Aberdeen will be a different kettle of haddock. Will you be going ? Do you want to try and meet up if you are ?

John -

To be honest I think our play made them look ordinary for the most. We controlled the game almost from start to finish. I was annoyed at losing the goal, but in the grand scheme of things it was a very good performance from the Champions and Cup holders, and onwards we go.

Yes, I shall be at Pittodrie, but doubt if I can meet up unfortunately. My company has taken a table in the Richard Donald Stand (Beach End), and since the Business Development Director knows me as a Tim (he is one himself), and he cannot make it as he will be in Houston, he has delegated me to entertain some of our customers.

I am having to go out and buy a jacket this week, and shall have to get a shirt that will close around my ever fatter neck! So it is the posh seats outside in the lower tier (not a box), and taxis laid on (!), free food and drink(!!), and hopefully a good performance and a victory for the Hoops.

Still trying to get sorted out for a trip to Glasgow, but Curly Junior Junior has a few things he wants me to help him with over the next few weeks, and his job stops him having a weekend in Glasgow.

Also my fiancee (still wierd saying that!!) is coming up for a couple of weekends to go house hunting in Aberdeen, so another Celtic game is on hold for the moment.

Perhaps the Dundee United game on March 15th? Babbity Bowsers (sp?) and can take CJJ with me as well since his boss is on holiday and the chipper (my son is a fryer!) is shut that weekend.

Hopefully this will come to pass and I can meet up with some more of our most excellent posters.
